Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on a photo depicting Volodymyr Zelensky against the backdrop of a painting showing the Kremlin and Lenin’s Mausoleum in flames. The image was featured in magazine as part of a major interview with the Ukrainian president.

According to the publication, the painting is located in a separate room next to Zelensky’s office.

“I wouldn’t comment on that in any particular way. It probably best illustrates the level of spiritual development and inner state of the person posing in such photos,” Peskov said.

He added that such imagery “does no credit to those who photograph it, publish it, or pose for it.”

The publication drew widespread attention in both Russian and international media. The painting of the burning Kremlin was seen as a symbolic image, sparking debate about the appropriateness of such visuals in official materials.
