Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus should maximize the benefits of its resources, and if mining proves economically viable, it should be actively developed.

Previously, the country’s authorities had considered legalizing the cryptocurrency industry. In 2017, a decree on the digital economy was adopted, creating a legal framework for blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency operations. However, the full-scale development of the industry remains in the discussion stage.

Experts note that mining requires significant investments in equipment and infrastructure. However, given Belarus's low electricity costs, the country could become an attractive destination for cryptocurrency mining.

The issue of cryptocurrency regulation remains unresolved, as digital asset usage is still not fully legislated. At the same time, Lukashenko’s initiatives indicate an effort to attract new revenue sources to the economy.
