Lavrov emphasized that Moscow adheres to strategic stability and does not use nuclear weapons as a tool of pressure. According to him, such statements by the French leader create unnecessary tensions in international relations.

The minister also noted that Macron always has the opportunity to discuss contentious issues directly with Vladimir Putin rather than making loud statements and fueling hysteria.

Earlier, the French president declared that Paris is committed to "strategic clarity" on nuclear deterrence, suggesting that nuclear weapons could be used if Europe’s security were threatened. His words sparked mixed reactions among NATO allies, as many countries maintain a more cautious approach to this issue.

Political analysts warn that such rhetoric could escalate confrontation between Russia and the West, further exacerbating crises in international relations. Despite this, Moscow continues to insist on the need for diplomatic dialogue and warns of the consequences of such statements.
