Israel Strikes Palestinian Target in Syria
Israeli aviation carried out an airstrike on a building on the outskirts of Damascus, according to Syrian state news agency reports. According to Reuters, the target of the strike was Palestinians. One source told the agency that the building housed the headquarters of the Palestinian group "Islamic Jihad."
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz confirmed the airstrike and stated that Israel would continue actions against Palestinian movements in Syria. Katz noted that wherever Palestinian groups are active, Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara would face Israeli airstrikes, adding that Palestinian groups in Syria would not be able to hide from Israeli planes.
This airstrike is part of the ongoing tensions in the region, where Israel is actively fighting Palestinian movements, accusing them of organizing attacks against Israeli citizens.
