First Kremlin reaction to US proposals for a ceasefire
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on the US statements following the talks with Ukraine, emphasizing that Russia is carefully studying the ceasefire proposals. According to him, Moscow expects US officials, such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Walts, to provide more detailed information on the results of the negotiations held in Saudi Arabia.
Peskov added that the Kremlin is not rushing to make conclusions and that Russia will wait for complete information from the US before making decisions on the proposed ceasefire. Additional contacts between the countries are scheduled in the coming days, which the Kremlin will officially announce. These contacts will help Russia assess the full scope of the situation and make an informed decision.
Additionally, Peskov mentioned that the Kremlin does not rule out the possibility of a phone call between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. Although no agreement for such a conversation has been reached yet, if necessary, organizing a high-level contact could be done quickly.
Regarding the situation in the Kursk region, Peskov reported that Russian forces continue to advance successfully, and the data indicates good progress. Military operations in this region are proceeding according to plan, and Russian forces are confident in their actions.
