EU to Build 6 More AI Factories
The European High-Performance Computing Initiative (Euro HPC) has announced plans to create six new AI factories within the EU. These centers will be located in Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Poland, and Slovenia. The project will receive funding of approximately 485 million euros from national and European sources.
The aim of establishing the AI factories is to provide priority access to startups and small and medium-sized enterprises, which will foster growth and development in the sector. These factories will serve as key hubs to support innovative technologies and AI businesses across Europe.
The Euro HPC project is not limited to new factories. In December 2024, seven locations were already selected for the first AI factories in Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, and Sweden. Next year, six more factories will be deployed, creating a unified network of centers across Europe to support IT innovations and artificial intelligence development within the European market.
