Elon Musk has sharply criticized the U.S. government's spending system, stating that the scale of corruption and abuse has become beyond reasonable comprehension.

“The massive amount of waste and fraud in the government is staggering — it’s simply mind-blowing. Billion-dollar expenditures have become routine,” Musk said.

He cited an example: one government agency commissioned an online survey with ten simple questions such as “Do you like national parks?” Normally, such a poll would cost around $10,000. However, according to Musk, $1 billion was written off from the budget for it.

The entrepreneur emphasized that such cases are not isolated, but part of a systemic problem. In his view, the federal bureaucracy has created opaque funding schemes in which vast sums disappear with no effective oversight.

Musk called for reforms, including cutting unnecessary programs, auditing all major expenditures, and introducing mechanisms for personal accountability in corruption-related decisions. He believes these measures are essential to restoring public trust in government institutions.

Elon Musk frequently criticizes the inefficiency of government agencies. His stance supports strict financial oversight, minimal government interference, and transparency in budget allocation.
