Elon Musk becomes world’s richest person, according to Forbes
Elon Musk has once again claimed the top spot on Forbes’ list of the world’s richest people, published on April 1, 2025. His net worth reached a record $342 billion, putting him ahead of all other contenders.
In second place is Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg with $216 billion, followed closely by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos at $215 billion. This marks the first time in Forbes history that three individuals each hold fortunes exceeding $200 billion.
Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison ranks fourth with $192 billion, while the fifth spot goes to the family of Bernard Arnault, owners of luxury conglomerate LVMH, with a combined wealth of $178 billion. Arnault, who topped the 2024 list, fell due to market corrections and surging U.S. tech stocks.
Tesla’s strong stock performance, along with the success of SpaceX, Neuralink, and xAI, contributed significantly to Musk’s rising fortune. His growing involvement in crypto projects — including Dogecoin integration into payment platforms — also boosted his wealth.
The 2025 Forbes ranking reflects the growing dominance of American tech entrepreneurs in the global economy and marks a historic shift in financial power among the world’s business elite.
