Argentina dissolves the AFIP Tax bureau and creates a new agency ARKA
The Argentine government has decided to dissolve the AFIP tax bureau and create a new agency ARKA, which will operate under a simplified system. This will result in a reduction of 34% of the staff, including the dismissal of more than 3,000 employees hired from 2019 to 2023. The closure of AFIP is expected to reduce bureaucracy, increase economic freedom and save 6.4 billion pesos per year. High salaries for executives are also being abolished. The AFIP trade union has expressed dissatisfaction and is considering a strike.
