A cleaner from Turkey returned 23 million lira, calling the money "haram"
In Izmir, Turkey, cleaner Ozkan Adik discovered an impressive amount of 23 million lira in his bank account, which is about $670,000. Instead of taking advantage of the unexpected "gift", the 42-year-old man, considering the money "haram" (unacceptable for religious beliefs), immediately returned it to the bank. Ozkan also contacted the police to ensure the security of the transaction and avoid possible consequences from the unclear origin of the funds.
