"AlfaStrakhovanie" Pays Insurance Compensation to AZAL for Crashed Aircraft
The insurance company "AlfaStrakhovanie" has fully compensated AZAL for the loss of an Embraer 190 aircraft that crashed near Aktau, according to Ilya Kabachnik, Deputy General Director of the company.
The payout was made in February under an aviation hull insurance policy. While the exact compensation amount has not been disclosed, such insurance agreements typically cover the full cost of the aircraft as well as additional expenses related to the accident.
The crash of the Embraer 190 sparked widespread attention, and the investigation into its causes is still ongoing. AZAL, Azerbaijan’s national airline, previously confirmed that the aircraft was insured in compliance with international standards.
