Nati Meir, an Israeli citizen and former member of the Romanian parliament, was arrested on the Greek island of Rhodes at the end of October. In an official statement filed with a Greek court, Meir claims that he previously worked as an agent of the Israeli intelligence service Mossad in Romania. Romania has requested his extradition, accusing him of evading an 11-year prison sentence for fraud, after he fled the country in 2016. A hearing on Meir's case in the Rhodes court is scheduled for next week.
